Johnny Ray

My name is Johnny. I work as Director of Technology at ISL in DC. I specialize in all things JavaScript, but I'm really into Go and Python these days. I serve as an IT advisory board member for the National Academy Foundation, where I help to ensure students receive the resources necessary to prepare them for industry or higher education. In addition, I proudly help train instructors and help guide curriculum development for Black Girls Code (DC) - an organization dedicated to teaching young women of color how to program. I love open source software and have contributed to projects such as Node.js and many more. Want to work together? Shoot me a line, and lets see what we can do. You can read my thoughts on Medium.

Hatred, which could destroy so much, never failed to destroy the man who hated, and this was an immutable law.

James Baldwin

I'm a family man and I love spending time with those closest to me. Most people try to achieve a work/life balance, but when you love what you do as much as I do, it's just living life. I firmly believe in following your dreams and the persuit of knowledge. Never regret a decision if you learn from it. If you love something, don't let it go.
